Cee'd Winter Festival

Last Friday I went to the Cee’d Winter Music Festival in Madrid. I got tickets as a Reyes Magos present by my brother and Mariela. It was the three of us, plus Saul, Richard and Bea (his girlfriend) and Bea’s friends. We got to Palacio de Deportes (Sport Palace, somehow our Madison Square Garden, a place where they do all kinds of things) in advance, so we had some tapas and beers before getting in. In the bar where we had them, Fangoria’s guitar player was having some beers too! I hadn’t seen Saul for almost 2 years, and I saw him again! He is completely changed, he doesn’t drink at all (who would have said it!) and he has a car with red leather haha.
The festival had 4 bands playing: Pet Shop Boys, Fangoria, Las Nancys Rubias and Pastora. The first was Pastora, a band from Barcelona which is famous for their Lola song. Only Mariela and I heard attend their concert. Meanwhile my brother and Saul were walking around, and Bea and Richard were out waiting for Bea’s girlfriends. After Pastora we had Nancys Rubias, a pop-rock band, led by the husband of Fangoria’s singer, Alaska. We had a great time with them, people started jumping and they had a curious aesthetic.
Following them we had Fangoria, the first big band. They play a different electronic-pop kind of music. Alaska (Olvido Gara) is the singer, and Nacho Canut is her partner in the band. They published their 7th album in 2006, and they were 2nd on the charts with their single Criticar por criticar. They played some of their new songs, and for 15 minuts they played some “bakalao”, hard electronic music, and people got crazy!! They didn’t play more than an hour, but it was enough to cheer us up.
Last but not least, we had Pet Shop Boys. These two “boys” from London are the gurus of pop/dance music. They played some songs from their last album Fundamentals, but the rest were part of their Greatest Hits. Their performance was astonishing, and we all had a great end of festival. Thank you Jordi and Mariela for bringing me the opportunity of attending this concert. Thank you
