Office 2007

The countdown for the new Windows Vista is almost over. In 5 days, the new Operating System (OS) by Microsoft will be available worldwide. That is what all the people are talking about. But almost as important as Windows Vista will be the launch of Microsoft's Office 2007. After the OS and the web browser, the suite is the most important product of the brand and it is probably the most-used computer software product in the world.

I recently read an article from the World Street Journal about the new Office. The writer talks about his first experience with the product. He talks about the disappearance of the toolbars (!!!) and about the new concept of ribbon (i still dont get it...). He says it is difficult to find what was easy to find before, and the other way around also occurs. To sum up: it is a great tool if you want to improve the layout of your documents. If you are one of the 99% if the users who only uses Word to write letters, stick with the old version. I think that the title of the article explains it in a better way, Microsoft's Office 2007: gutsy and radical.
